With the versatility of Thunderbolt™ 3 the ability for our devices to go beyond just single functionality has allowed the T4 RAID to do more than just a storage device by combining the power of a RAID with the functionality of a docking solution.
The T4’s core functionality is that of a powerful and compact RAID 0, 1, 5 & JBOD device. The versatility of the T4 allows users to have the RAID device that they desire by choosing between standard 3.5” HDDs or 2.5” SSDs. With 3.5” HDDs users can choose from capacities between 8TB – 32TB. With SSDs the T4 is available in capacities of either 4TB or 8TB.
For professional users looking for fast storage, the T4 RAID can provide speeds up to 1370MB/s when used with SSDs in a RAID 0, or 750MB/s when used with 3.5” HDDs in a RAID 0.
When working on critical projects it’s important to have a RAID device that can protect your files. The T4 in RAID 5 gives users single-drive redundancy which means that in the unlikely event of a drive failure all user data will still be available on the remaining 3 drives. Then all a user needs to do to get the single-drive redundancy back is to put in a new drive.
When working with 4K video files users need to watch that footage back on a crisp 4K monitor. The T4 RAID includes a DisplayPort connector that allows users to add a 4K 60Hz monitor to their workflow in a streamlined way via one Thunderbolt™ 3 cable. For users looking to add a 5K 60Hz monitor they can connect a 5K monitor to the spare Thunderbolt™ 3 port.
Users that move their laptop from their desk to other locations will benefit from the 85W Mac laptop charging that the T4 RAID provides. This function is ideal for 13” and 15” MacBook Pro users by providing full charging capabilities for those laptops. Keep your factory charger in your bag and charge your laptop at your desk with the T4 RAID.
The T4 RAID includes 4 removable drive modules. This allows users to upgrade and expand their storage in the future. Users have the option to upgrade the capacity or to even upgrade from 3.5” HDDs to SSDs if they wish. The drive modules in the T4 are also compatible with other CalDigit storage devices such as the CalDigit AV Pro 2.
Included with the T4 RAID is a fully certified 40Gb/s 1.0m Thunderbolt™ 3 cable.
