AV Pro 2 – Storage Hub
As laptops like the 2016 MacBook Pro are getting slimmer, users need a storage device that goes beyond the conventional and can offer more than just extra capacity. The AV Pro 2’s ability to offer data, power and port expansion means that your storage device can do more than ever before.

Data
The AV Pro 2 builds on the original AV Pro’s removable drive design. Traditional single drive storage has a non removable hard drive. The AV Pro 2 features a removable drive that allows users to upgrade and expand their storage. Users can buy the HDD version and upgrade to the SSD version in the future, or alternatively they can purchase a lower capacity version and upgrade to a higher capacity in the future without buying a whole new device.

Power
USB-C has allowed devices like the AV Pro 2 to charge laptops. In the past, external drives would be a drain your laptop’s battery. In the case of the AV Pro 2 it is charging the laptop’s battery. One cable from a laptop to the AV Pro 2 will supply up to 6TB of data and charge at the same time. This means that

when returning from the road, a user can just connect one USB-C cable to access all their data, devices, and power.

Hub
Ports are limited on modern laptops and adding a storage device takes up one of those valuable ports. The AV Pro 2 adds two extra USB 3.0 ports, that will allow users to connect a variety of USB devices to their laptops such as a keyboard, mouse, printer, SD card reader, DSLR, USB drive, and more. The AV Pro 2 USB 3.0 hub is also compatible with the Apple SuperDrive.

The USB 3.0 ports feature stand-alone charging, allowing users to charge their iPhones and iPads even when the AV Pro 2 is not connected to a laptop.

Thunderbolt™ 3, USB-C & USB 3.0
Featuring USB-C (USB 3.1) and USB 3.0 ports, the AV Pro 2, can connect to any computer. Whether it’s the latest Thunderbolt™ 3, USB-C or USB 3.0 Mac/PC laptop, users will always be able to get access to their data. The laptop charging function is not available on USB 3.0 laptops.

Up to 430MB/s
Users have a choice between high capacity and high performance. Available with either a 3.5” 7200RPM spinning disk or a 2.5” SSD, users have the option of choosing the right type of drive for their workflow. Although, that choice does not have to be permanent as the AV Pro 2 features a removable drive that would allow users to switch between a 3.5” HDD and a 2.5” SSD with ease. The 3.5” HDD model features speeds up to 200MB/s and the SSD model increases the performance up to 430MB/s.
