Work, Store, Charge

With the implementation of Thunderbolt 3 there are higher expectations than ever before on RAID storage devices to offer more than just data back-up. The T4 follows through on this promise by providing users with the ability to connect a 4K monitor and charge the connected laptop with one single Thunderbolt 3 cable. All of these new features are a powerful new addition to the core functionality of the T4 which provides incredible performance and RAID 5 protection for your valuable files.

RAID

It’s important that a RAID is flexible, and can adapt to a user’s professional workflow, not the other way around. The T4 features RAID 0 for the best performance, RAID 1 for 4 automatic back-ups, and RAID 5 for a balance between performance and protection.

The 4-bay design of the T4 means that users can mix and match RAID modes. Why not set two drive bays to RAID 0 and the remaining two to RAID 1? That is just a fraction of the possibilities. Get ready to design the RAID you want!

Performance

In today’s professional workflows it’s important that a storage solution is fast enough to handle the steeps demands of high-resolution files. The T4 delivers incredible performance that is only matched by it’s feature-set.

Charge

Thunderbolt 3’s ability to provide power through the Thunderbolt 3 port allows the T4 to charge the attached laptop. With power delivery up to 85W, your laptop will always be charging as it’s backing-up your content.

Taking your laptop on the road? When you get back to the office just plug the Thunderbolt 3 cable to your laptop and you will be backing up and charging. Keep your laptop’s PSU in your bag and the T4 will charge your laptop when you get home!

4K or 5K Monitor Connectivity

Most creative professionals are connecting extra monitors to their laptops through the use of an adapter, which means more cables going to your laptop. The T4’s built-in DisplayPort connector allows users to connect to any monitor they need with resolutions up to 4K@60Hz. DisplayPort is a versatile connector that allows for any display to be connected such as HDMI, DVI, VGA, mDP and DP, with the use of a DisplayPort adapter cable.

If you need to add a 5K Thunderbolt 3 monitor you can connect it to the spare Thunderbolt 3 port on the T4 for outstanding visual fidelity. Dual 4K monitor connectivity is also possible with the use of a USB-C Video Adapter connected to the spare Thunderbolt 3 port.

HDD or SSD

Building on the T4’s versatility, users have the option to purchase the T4 with either high capacity 3.5” HDDs or faster 2.5” SSDs, depending on your requirements. Sometimes it’s important to back-up huge amounts of data, and a higher capacity storage device is more important. In some instances, it will be important to have an incredibly fast scratch-disk for high-resolution files.

Professional Workflows

As data moves around from location to location, it’s important that you invest in an eco-system that can manage that data from the field to the office with ease and simplicity. The T4 RAID in combination with the Tuff external drive offers a perfect workflow. Back-up your data in the field with confidence on the Tuff and transfer those files on to the T4 by connecting it to the spare Thunderbolt 3 port.

By daisy-chaining a Thunderbolt 3 dock, like the CalDigit TS3, to your T4 RAID you can add a host of other connectivity options such as USB, eSATA, DisplayPort and Audio In/Out.

Compatible with Previous Generation of Thunderbolt

Even if your laptop doesn’t feature the latest Thunderbolt 3 interface, you can still use the T4 as an external hard drive on previous generations of Thunderbolt with the optional Apple Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter sold separately by Apple. Certain functionality that is only possible through Thunderbolt 3 such as laptop charging will not function when connected to a Thunderbolt 1 or 2 host computer.

Compact Design

Let’s face it, you don’t want a huge storage device taking up space on your desk. The T4’s low profile form-factor means that it is incredibly compact. In fact, many professionals use the T4 on the road to back-up important data because of it’s compact design.

Advanced Software

Getting all the vital info about your RAID is highly important. You don’t want complicated software that is not user-friendly. CalDigit’s Drive Utility makes it very convenient to check on the status of your T4. This small piece of software is located in the macOS menu bar and provides you with all your T4 diagnostic information. The status of your T4 is just a glance away!

Free Thunderbolt 3 Cable

Included with your T4 is a free Thunderbolt 3 40Gb/s cable. It is a high-quality cable that will provide data, video, and power in one compact reversible cable.

High Quality Design

Above all else for CalDigit, it is of paramount importance that every product is built to the highest of standards, and the T4 is no exception. Its die-cast aluminum chassis offers a level of durability unmatched by inferior metals. The aluminum design also helps with heat dissipation keeping the T4 cool at all times.
