Configurations for the TS3 Lite & TS3

The CalDigit Thunderbolt™ Station 3 Lite and Thunderbolt™ Station 3 allow users to connect dual monitors in either a mirrored or extended desktop.

Why DisplayPort?

The inclusion of DisplayPort over other video outputs on the TS3 Lite and TS3 is due to its versatility. DisplayPort allows users to connect to virtually any monitor they need. DisplayPort to HDMI, DVI or VGA cables are widely available.


Thunderbolt™ 3

The spare Thunderbolt™ 3 port allows users to connect a second monitor through the use of a USB-C Video Adapter. For more info on CalDigit's USB-C Adapter click here.




Option 1
Dual DisplayPort, mDP, HDMI, DVI or VGA Monitors

Connect a DisplayPort cable or DisplayPort to mDP, HDMI, DVI or VGA cable to the DisplayPort connector and connect a USB-C to DisplayPort, mDP, HDMI, DVI or VGA Adapter to the Thunderbolt™ 3 port.

Required:
- DisplayPort cable or DisplayPort to mDP/HDMI/DVI or VGA cable
- USB-C to mDP/HDMI/DVI or VGA Adapter
- mDP/HDMI/DVI or VGA cable


Option 2
Thunderbolt™ 1/2 Monitor & DisplayPort, mDP, HDMI,DVI or VGA Monitor

Connect the Apple Thunderbolt™ 2 to Thunderbolt™ 3 Adapter to the Thunderbolt™ 3 port and connect a DisplayPort DisplayPort to mDP, HDMI, DVI or VGA cable to the DisplayPort connector. The Apple Thunderbolt™ Adapter is only Mac compatible.

- Apple Thunderbolt™ 2 to Thunderbolt™ 3 Adapter
- Thunderbolt™ Cable


Option 3
Thunderbolt™ 3 Monitor & DisplayPort, mDP, HDMI, DVI or VGA Monitor

Connect a Thunderbolt™ 3 Monitor to the Thunderbolt™ 3 port and connect a DisplayPort or DisplayPort to mDp,HDMI, DVI or VGA cable to the DisplayPort connector.

Required:
- DisplayPort cable or DisplayPort to mDP/HDMI/DVI or VGA cable
- Thunderbolt™ 3 cable


Option 4
USB-C Monitor & DisplayPort, mDP, HDMI, DVI or VGA Monitor

Connect a USB-C monitor to the Thunderbolt™ 3 port and connect a DisplayPort or DisplayPort to mDP, HDMI, DVI or VGA cable to the DisplayPort connector.
