The Fastest Thunderbolt Single Drive

The CalDigit T1 is a powerful single drive storage device with TWO Thunderbolt ports that supports both regular 3.5" HDD's and the much faster 2.5" SSD drives. One of the most unique functions of the T1 is that the drive is removable, something that you do not normally see on most single drive solutions. This allows for easy expansion and archiving of your important data. With the SSD drive installed, the CalDigit T1 can reach speeds of up to 470 MB/s. This type of speed in the past was only possible with much larger more expensive units that would take up all the space in your edit suite and require a lot of power to run.

True Flexibility

The T1 is all about flexibility. Choose the regular 3.5" HDD version for higher storage capacity - up to 4TB, or purchase the 2.5" SSD version if speed is more your thing. Even better you can daisy-chain two T1's together, the SSD version for editing your high quality video files, and the 3.5" HDD version for backing up all your content. In fact you can daisy-chain up to 6 Thunderbolt devices to one computer.

The removable drive function of the T1 allows professionals to move their data from edit suite to edit suite without having to take the whole storage device with you.

CalDigit understands the importance for capacity and performance involving large project files required for our everyday users. With the CalDigit T2 and Thunderbolt™ technology, CalDigit is able to provide both all in one unit. The T2 can support up to 8TB of capacity. In the event of time sensitive situations, to get the fastest file transfer times, the CalDigit T2 offers the flexibility for that performance boost with the support of 2.5" SSD drives.

The CalDigit T2 drive module design provides a rigid base to secure two hot swappable 2.5" SSD or 3.5" hard drives. This allows for easy performance upgrades and replacements, as users can take advantage of even faster speeds, reaching up to 630MB/s. The T2's specially engineered design delivers effective heat dissipation, important for maintaining the long-term reliability of high performance drives, including SSDs in the field.

Flexible RAID Configuration

CalDigit T2 lets you stripe drives - either solid-state or hard drives - in a RAID 0 array to increase performance and create a massive volume for tasks such as video or photo editing; or create a RAID 1 mirror to protect digital media assets from a drive failure. You also can use T2 in JBOD mode where each of the hard disk is accessed directly as an independent drive through Thunderbolt™ connection.

Thanks to the zero driver installation requirements, the CalDigit T1 and T2 work right out of the box, featuring the full hot plug support. Also, being a native Mac OSX supported device, your CalDigit drives will never require a driver update, ever. It just works!

CalDigit T1 and T2 also supports OSX bootable. You now have the ability to start up from Thunderbolt™ interface as is possible using FireWire. Mobile workers can use this external bootable T1 drive or T2 RAID to make workstations hot-swappable, allowing the flexibility to shift users to different machines as efficiently as possible. The boot up time is lightening fast with less waiting time on the startup and login screens, allowing you to get a head start on any tasks before anybody else.
